I worked together with my ESE teachers to create a special schedule where the CBI and ESE classes can come to the media center twice a week, once for storytime and again for a lesson focusing on their curriculum topic. This month we did awesome lessons on weather. We made a tornado in a jar (wish I took pictures of this one, it was amazing!) and we made blizzards in a bag. I followed the idea I saw in JDaniel4’s blog and adapted it for my students. I had created guides for drawing the snowman on some of the bags for students who needed the additional guidance. I also had pre-cut papers for students who needed the snow pre-cut, but also had strips available for students who were able to independently cut their own snow. Students loved making the snow storm in the bag by blowing in to make the pieces of “snow” flutter around!
